Covering the major world conflicts of his time, Gilles Caron was a talented photojournalist. His photographs marked their time. As a great lover of photography, Nicole Bru wished to join with the Fondation Gilles Caron in paying tribute to the skill, audacity and courage of the photojournalist Gilles Caron and in giving him his rightful place in the history of journalism and photography (through exhibitions and publications).<\/p>\n

Her support was at the origin of the symposium \u201cGilles Caron, photographer\u201d in 2009 and in 2012 the publication of the book Gilles Caron – Scrapbook<\/a>, and enabled the organisation in 2013 of the first occasion of the exhibition \u201cGilles Caron, Le Conflit int\u00e9rieur\u201d<\/a>, at the Elys\u00e9e Museum in Lausanne. This exhibition still continues its adventure; after the Museum of Charleroi and the Museum of the Jeu de Paume in Tours, it is now the Palace of Fonfreyde in Clermont-Ferrand which is housing it. <\/p>\n The Fondation Bru is pursuing its commitment by contributing to the financing of the design of the \u201cCahiers\u201d of the Gilles Caron Foundation. It organises \u201cGilles Caron – Colours\u201d<\/a>, a previously unpublished colour prints display.
